How OTA bookings arrive

When a guest books on a connected channel, that reservation lands in Aurora on its own — no copy-paste, no checking the channel's inbox. Here's the flow, and a plain-English explanation of the webhook that makes it instant.

Bookings flow in automatically

The moment someone completes a booking on Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia or any connected channel, the channel manager delivers it to Aurora. Availability for that room and date drops immediately, so you can’t be overbooked.

  1. 1A guest books on the channel. They complete checkout on the OTA as normal.
  2. 2Aurora receives it instantly. The channel manager passes the reservation into your property automatically.
  3. 3Availability updates everywhere. The booked room is removed from sale across your booking engine and every other channel.

Where the booking appears

  • 📋 Reservations — the new booking shows in your list with the guest, dates and an OTA source label.
  • 📅 The calendar — it appears as a block on the right room and dates, ready for check-in.
  • 📊 Reports — it’s counted under Reservations by source so you can see how much business each channel brings.

What is a webhook?

A webhook is simply an automatic notification. Instead of Aurora repeatedly asking the channel “any new bookings yet?”, the channel pushes a message to Aurora the instant something happens — like a doorbell ringing when a guest arrives, rather than you checking the door every minute.

In short

A webhook is a “push” notification between systems. It's why OTA bookings appear in Aurora within seconds instead of on a delay. You can find your property's webhook URL in Property settings.

Expected result

Every booking made on a connected channel appears in your Reservations list and on the calendar automatically, with availability already adjusted so the room can't be sold again.
